ENGAGE™ 8540
ENGAGE™ 8540 is an ethylene-octene copolymer that is well-suited for foam applications, and provides outstanding performance in profile extrusion for tubing and soft hose. It offers excellent clarity, toughness, and flexibility. It also offers excellent compatibility with other polyolefins, enabling highly efficient blending and co-extrusion.

ENGAGE™ 8540 has a typical density of 0.908 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 1 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), which makes it a stiff, plastomer-like, low-flow grade in the Dow ENGAGE range. Grades in this window are typically used for:
- Film and packaging modification, including sealing layers
- Impact modification where stiffness and heat resistance must be kept
- Plastomer-type applications that need more rigidity than a soft POE
