PA6 vs PA66 — Choosing the Right Grade
Both grades are workhorses of engineering plastics, but each has distinct strengths that determine the optimal application fit.
PA6 (Polyamide 6)
Better processability, superior surface finish, and excellent toughness. Wider processing window and lower melt viscosity make PA6 the preferred choice for thin-wall parts, complex geometries, films, and fibers.
PA66 (Polyamide 66)
Higher heat resistance, higher rigidity, and superior dimensional stability. The premium choice for under-the-hood automotive applications, electrical connectors, and precision-engineered structural parts.
