TAFMER™ SERIES POE
TAFMER™ SERIES POE – Product Overview
TAFMER™ is the brand name for high-performance polyolefin elastomers (POE) and plastomers produced by Mitsui Chemicals. It is widely recognized as one of the pioneer brands in the industry, utilizing Mitsui’s advanced catalyst and polymer design technologies.
Best-Selling Grades
TAFMER™ DF and A Series are specifically designed to meet the modification needs of PE. TAFMER™ DF & A Series feature low crystalline structure and low melting point, offering excellent compatibility with PE. They provide unique properties such as low-temperature heat sealability, improved elongation, puncture resistance, and impact resistance — without sacrificing the performance of the base material.

How to read TAFMER POE grade names
The A-series and DF-series tables above follow a consistent naming pattern, which makes it quick to shortlist a grade:
- DF series: the digit after DF marks the density and the remaining digits the melt flow. DF6xx grades are 861–864 kg/m³, DF7xx 870, DF8xx 885, DF9xx 893 and DF110 905; the endings 05, 10, 40, 200 and 350 mean 0.5, 1.2, 3.6, 18 and 35 g/10 min at 190 °C.
- A series: the digits after A- give the melt flow first and the density second. A-10xx is 1.2, A-40xx 3.6 and A-200xx 18 g/10 min; the endings 70, 85 and 90 mean 870, 885 and 893 kg/m³.
- Two MFR columns: 190 °C is the usual reference for ethylene copolymers. The 230 °C value helps when you blend TAFMER into polypropylene, whose MFR is measured at 230 °C.
Choosing a TAFMER POE grade for PE and PP modification
- PE film sealing and toughness: the lower-density DF6xx and DF7xx grades (861–870 kg/m³) lower the seal initiation temperature and raise puncture and impact resistance.
- Stiffer film blends: DF8xx, DF9xx, A-xx85S and A-xx90S grades (885–893 kg/m³) modify toughness while keeping more of the film’s stiffness.
- PP impact modification: the softest grades, DF605, DF610 and DF640, give the largest gain in low-temperature impact; choose the MFR closest to your PP.
- Injection moulding and compounding: the high-flow grades DF7350 (35 g/10 min), DF8200, A-20085S and A-20090S (18 g/10 min).
TAFMER POE FAQ
What is the difference between DF810 and A-1085S?
In the tables above they share the same nominal density (885 kg/m³) and MFR (1.2 g/10 min at 190 °C). Choose between them on availability and a short trial in your own formula.
Are there similar grades from other producers?
Yes. DF710 (870 kg/m³, 1.2 g/10 min) sits close to Dow ENGAGE 8100 (0.870 g/cm³, 1 g/10 min), and DF610 (862 kg/m³, 1.2 g/10 min) close to LG Lucene LC168 (0.862 g/cm³, 1.2 g/10 min). Comonomer and molecular-weight distribution differ, so trial before switching.
What documents come with each order?
Every TAFMER POE shipment comes with a TDS and COA; an SDS is available on request, and for applicable grades we can provide the producer’s REACH and RoHS declarations. We ship from major Chinese ports.
Compare other producers’ grades: Dow ENGAGE, SABIC FORTIFY, ExxonMobil Exact, LG Lucene, SK SOLUMER, Borealis Queo, WANSUPER, or go back to the full POE range. Send us your target density, MFR and application, and we will confirm availability, lead time and pricing.
