ENGAGE™ 8003
ENGAGE™ 8003 is an ethylene-octene copolymer with excellent flow characteristics, delivering strong performance across a wide range of general-purpose thermoplastic elastomer applications. It is certified under ISCC Plus bio-circular certification, produced using bio-based feedstocks, and verified through the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) mass balance scheme.
Applications
- General-purpose thermoplastic elastomer applications
- Wire and cable
- Impact modification
| Property | Typical Value | Test Method |
|---|---|---|
| Density | 0.885 g/cm³ | ASTM D792 |
| Melt Flow Index (190°C / 2.16 kg) | 1.0 g/10 min | ASTM D1238 |
Where ENGAGE™ 8003 fits
ENGAGE™ 8003 has a typical density of 0.885 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 1 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), which makes it a semi-rigid, low-flow grade in the Dow ENGAGE range. Grades in this window are typically used for:
- Impact modification of PP where more stiffness has to be kept
- Film modification and sealing layers
- Compounds that need a balance of toughness and modulus
Similar grades from other producers
These grades share the same nominal density (0.885 g/cm³) and melt flow (1 g/10 min): Solumer 891. Comonomer, molecular-weight distribution and additive package still differ, so confirm with a short trial before you switch.
Documents and samples
Every shipment of ENGAGE™ 8003 comes with a TDS and COA; an SDS is available on request, and for applicable grades we can provide the producer’s REACH and RoHS declarations. Samples are available for qualification trials. Compare all Dow ENGAGE POE grades or the full POE range, and send us your application for a quotation.
