LG LUCENE™ POE
LG LUCENE™ POE – Product Overview
LG Chem LUCENE™ Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) is a high-performance ethylene-based copolymer (ethylene-octene or ethylene-butene) produced using LG Chem’s proprietary metallocene catalyst technology.
Best-Selling Grades
LG Lucene POE grades at a glance
LG Chem’s LUCENE™ polyolefin elastomers are ethylene-based copolymers made with LG Chem’s metallocene catalyst technology. The LC grades are compounding grades, used mainly as impact modifiers, and the LF grades are designed for photovoltaic (PV) encapsulation film.

How to choose a Lucene grade
- Toughest compounds: LC160, LC168 and LC161 (0.862–0.868 g/cm³, 0.5–1.2 g/10 min) are the soft, low-flow choices for maximum impact in PP and TPO.
- Easier flow: LC565, LC575 and LC670 (5 g/10 min) and LC875 (33 g/10 min) trade a little impact efficiency for faster filling in injection-moulded compounds.
- Stiffest: LC100 (0.903 g/cm³) behaves like a plastomer and keeps more stiffness.
- Encapsulant film: LF575 and LF675 share 0.877 g/cm³; LF675’s higher MFR (14 vs 5 g/10 min) suits faster extrusion and thinner film, while LF575 gives more melt strength.
POE encapsulant film for solar modules
POE has become a common alternative to EVA in solar encapsulant film. It absorbs less moisture and has higher volume resistivity, which helps resist potential-induced degradation (PID) in bifacial and high-efficiency modules, and it releases no acetic acid as it ages. Film producers compound grades such as LF575 and LF675 with a crosslinking agent, a silane coupling agent and UV stabilizers before casting.
LG Lucene POE FAQ
Which Lucene grade matches ENGAGE 8150?
Lucene LC161 shares its nominal 0.868 g/cm³ and 0.5 g/10 min, as do Dow ENGAGE 8150, Borealis Queo 6800LA and SABIC FORTIFY C0570D. LC160 (0.863, 0.5) sits next to ENGAGE 8180 and Exact 9061. Run a short trial before switching.
Do you supply LF grades for encapsulant production?
Yes. LF575 and LF675 are available for film producers. Tell us your line type, film thickness and annual volume, and we will check availability and arrange samples.
What documents come with each order?
Every LG Lucene POE shipment comes with a TDS and COA; an SDS is available on request, and for applicable grades we can provide the producer’s REACH and RoHS declarations. We ship from major Chinese ports.
Compare other producers’ grades: Dow ENGAGE, SABIC FORTIFY, ExxonMobil Exact, SK SOLUMER, Borealis Queo, Mitsui TAFMER, WANSUPER, or go back to the full POE range. Send us your target density, MFR and application, and we will confirm availability, lead time and pricing.
