Unitechem LS 3853 is a fatty-acid-ester hindered amine light stabilizer built on a C16–C18 stearate/palmitate ester. The ester structure gives excellent compatibility with polyolefins, and it protects plastic surfaces from UV yellowing, chalking and gloss loss, often together with HALS 944 or HALS 119. Applications

LS-3853 is particularly effective in polyolefin plastics (PP, PE), especially for PP and TPO automotive exterior/interior parts, PP films and tapes, TPO roofing membranes and PP outdoor furniture. Also used as a light stabilizer in polyacetal, polyamide, styrenic polymers and polyurethane. Can be incorporated as a neat solid or as the 3853PP5 masterbatch concentrate for precision dosing in PP applications.
