ENGAGE™ 8450
ENGAGE™ 8450 is an ethylene-octene copolymer that performs well across a wide range of thermoplastic elastomer applications. It offers excellent compatibility with other polyolefins, enabling highly efficient blending and co-extrusion. It has excellent flow properties and can be efficiently crosslinked via peroxide, silane, or radiation. After crosslinking, it exhibits outstanding heat aging resistance, compression set resistance, and weatherability.
| Property | Typical Value | Test Method |

| Melt Flow Index (190°C / 2.16 kg) | 3.0 g/10 min | ASTM D1238 |
Where ENGAGE™ 8450 fits
ENGAGE™ 8450 has a typical density of 0.902 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 3 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), which makes it a stiff, plastomer-like, medium-flow grade in the Dow ENGAGE range. Grades in this window are typically used for:
- Film and packaging modification, including sealing layers
- Impact modification where stiffness and heat resistance must be kept
- Plastomer-type applications that need more rigidity than a soft POE
Documents and samples
Every shipment of ENGAGE™ 8450 comes with a TDS and COA; an SDS is available on request, and for applicable grades we can provide the producer’s REACH and RoHS declarations. Samples are available for qualification trials. Compare all Dow ENGAGE POE grades or the full POE range, and send us your application for a quotation.
