Solumer 8605
SOLUMER™ 8605 is a Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) produced by SK Functional Polymer. It features excellent flow properties and low impact strength. As an ethylene-octene copolymer, it performs well across a wide range of general-purpose thermoplastic elastomer applications. SOLUMER™ 8605 is suitable for footwear and impact modification.

Where Solumer 8605 fits
Solumer 8605 has a typical density of 0.857 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 1 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), which makes it a very soft, low-flow grade in the SK SOLUMER range. Grades in this window are typically used for:
- Impact modification of PP and TPO compounds, especially for low-temperature toughness
- Extruded profiles, hoses, and wire and cable compounds
- Foams and soft compounds where melt strength matters
Similar grades from other producers
These grades share the same nominal density (0.857 g/cm³) and melt flow (1 g/10 min): ENGAGE™ 8842 and FORTIFY™ C1055D. Comonomer, molecular-weight distribution and additive package still differ, so confirm with a short trial before you switch.
