ENGAGE™ 7387

ENGAGE™ 7387 is an ethylene-butene copolymer that, compared to other commercially available polyolefin elastomers, offers higher molecular weight, better toughness, and higher melt strength. It is well-suited for wire and cable extrusion applications and can also be used for impact modification of various thermoplastic resins.

Melt Flow Index (190°C / 2.16 kg) 0.5 g/10 min ASTM D1238

Where ENGAGE™ 7387 fits

ENGAGE™ 7387 has a typical density of 0.870 g/cm³ and a melt flow rate of 0.5 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg), which makes it a soft, low-flow grade in the Dow ENGAGE range. Grades in this window are typically used for:

  • Impact modification of PP and TPO compounds, especially for low-temperature toughness
  • Extruded profiles, hoses, and wire and cable compounds
  • Foams and soft compounds where melt strength matters

Similar grades from other producers

These grades share the same nominal density (0.870 g/cm³) and melt flow (0.5 g/10 min): Exact™ 9071 and Queo 7001LA. Comonomer, molecular-weight distribution and additive package still differ, so confirm with a short trial before you switch.
