ABS Grade Types
ABS is engineered into specialized grades through the precise balance of A/B/S monomer ratios and additive packages. Each grade type targets specific application requirements.
General-Purpose
The classic balanced formulation. High gloss surface, good rigidity, easy processing — used for appliance housings, electronics enclosures, automotive interior trim, and consumer products.
High-Flow / Thin-Wall
Engineered for thin-wall and large-area injection molding. Reduces cycle times and minimizes defects in laptop housings, dashboards, and ultra-thin electronics frames.
FR / V-0 Grades
Halogen-based or non-halogen flame-retardant formulations meeting strict UL94 V-0 (1.0–2.5mm) and 5VA standards — required for power outlets, TV frames, printer casings, and battery housings.
High-Heat Resistance
Modified for elevated service temperatures — used in under-the-hood automotive parts, coffee machine components, and small kitchen appliances exposed to thermal stress.
Electroplating
Specialty grade with optimized butadiene phase distribution for chrome plating. Used for automotive grilles, plumbing fixtures, cosmetic packaging, and decorative hardware.
Specialty Variants
ASA replaces butadiene with acrylic rubber for outdoor weather resistance (auto exterior, building); MABS adds MMA for transparency (medical devices, transparent housings).
