Polyolefin Resins
PE Resin Supplier
Polyethylene · The World’s Largest Plastic
Polyethylene (PE) is the most produced synthetic polymer on the planet, accounting for roughly one-third of global plastics output with annual production exceeding 100 million tons. Through different polymerization processes and catalyst systems, PE is engineered into multiple grades — LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, MDPE, and UHMWPE — each tailored for specific applications from agricultural film to high-pressure pipe systems. As a PE resin supplier, Sychem partners with leading global suppliers — Dow, ExxonMobil, SABIC, Borealis-Borouge — and works closely with top-tier Chinese producers to deliver complete PE solutions for film, packaging, pipes, containers, and industrial applications.
Polyethylene Types
PE comes in five major variants distinguished by density, branching structure, and polymerization route. Choosing the right type is the first step toward optimal application performance.
LDPE
Produced by free-radical polymerization at 1000–3000 bar with branched molecular structure. The lightest PE variant — soft, flexible, transparent, with excellent processability and good electrical insulation. Greater transparency than HDPE/LLDPE due to lower crystallinity.
LLDPE
Linear backbone with short uniform branches, made by copolymerization of ethylene with α-olefins (1-butene, 1-hexene, 1-octene). Higher tensile strength, puncture and impact resistance than LDPE. Excellent ESCR (environmental stress crack resistance) — dozens of times higher than LDPE.
HDPE
Linear polymer chains with minimal branching, achieved at low pressure with Ziegler-Natta or chromium catalysts. Rigid, tough, with crystallinity exceeding 90%. Superior tensile strength, chemical resistance, and stress crack resistance compared to LDPE. Service temperature −50°C to +60°C.
MDPE & UHMWPE
MDPE bridges LDPE and HDPE — better stress-crack resistance than HDPE, used in gas pipes and shrink film. UHMWPE reaches molecular weights of 3.5–7.5 million amu, delivering exceptional toughness, wear resistance, and chemical resistance for the most demanding applications.

Applications
From food packaging films to pressure water mains, from agricultural mulch to lithium battery separators — PE is the universal commodity polymer underpinning modern industrial life.
Film & Packaging
Agricultural mulch film, greenhouse film, food packaging film, shrink film, stretch wrap, garbage bags, retail bags, lamination films, and barrier multi-layer films. PE accounts for the majority of global plastic film output. LDPE delivers gloss and clarity; LLDPE adds tensile and puncture; HDPE provides moisture barrier.
Pipe & Infrastructure
PE100 pressure water mains, gas distribution pipes, cable conduits, geothermal loops, sewer/drainage pipes, irrigation systems, and mining slurry pipelines. HDPE PE100/PE4710 grades meet the highest pressure and long-term hydrostatic strength requirements (50-year service life at design pressure).
Containers & Industrial Goods
Blow-molded bottles, jerry cans, IBC containers, drums, fuel tanks, automotive parts, household goods, woven sacks, lubricant containers, and chemical storage. HDPE is the dominant material thanks to its rigidity, chemical resistance, and stress crack resistance for demanding service environments.
Specialty & High-Performance
UHMWPE lithium-ion battery separator films, ballistic armor (Dyneema®/Spectra® fibers), artificial joint replacements, industrial bearings, mining equipment liners, ice rink boards, conveyor parts, and food processing components. Where conventional plastics fail, UHMWPE delivers.
